Important: This method exploits bug. Do look away if you intend to play the game normally.
As mentioned, it is possible to bring over crops to the next season (including winter) through bug exploitation. The bug is not new though, considering it existed back in GameBoy version.
In order to execute the bug, player has to be at the last day of any season. Keep your character awake until after midnight and the date has shifted to Day 1 of next season, as shown in the screenshot scenario where I am trying to bring pineapple (summer crop) into autumn.
For safety precaution, you may save first before executing the next few steps. Start swinging any tools until your stamina hit 0 and fatigue (smiley face) turns blue at the top right side of the screen like the screenshot below.
Do take note that your fatigue will continue to reduce after midnight despite you’re just standing, so it’s highly advised to only start using your stamina after midnight, considering the exploit requires you to not faint before 6 AM. For best precaution, you may start reducing your stamina and fatigue around 4:30 AM – 5 AM (If you do not have enough time, do it inside your house to stop time).
Now when you’re all ready, enter your house or any building at 5:50 AM. Save the game, preferably another slot to prevent mistake. Start swinging your tool and count how many swing it takes to faint and be brought to clinic. Once you get the number, reload your save and swing 1 time lesser than before. In my case, my character fainted at 10th swing, so I should be swinging only 9 times this round.
Head out of your house or any building and wait until 6 AM for the magic to happens. By the time you return from the clinic scene, you should notice your date skipped by 1 day, ending up at Day 2 of the season. Head out, and you should be seeing the crop surviving instead of being wilted.
Here’s another good news, you can continue to exploit the bug and bring forward the crop to yet another season, eg: Continue harvesting pineapple at winter. Naturally, due to how the bug works, you should only use it for reoccurring crops such as strawberry, pineapple, green pepper and etc for continuous harvest.
If you are really into earning big buck in game, do consider horse racing trick or Huang’s apple game too since the profit margin there are way higher albeit the necessary patience. I hope this trick helps regardless, have fun!
