The player starts the game as Konami Man and can switch between Konami Man and Konami Lady. If two players are playing together, one will play as Konami Man and the other as Konami Lady. Both players cannot switch characters until they rescue one of the characters from one of the six selectable stages. The players must go through six stages set in different Konami games. Upon completion, the player will use a key to rescue the main character of that game, after which they can play as that character.
