The story of Baldur's Gate 3 begins when the player is captured by a group of Mind Flayers, a race with the ability to control the minds of others. These creatures implant a "parasite" in the player's brain to control and alter the body of the host. However, when the player wakes up, they discover that their character possesses certain powers from the parasite, which leads them to embark on an adventure to find a way to remove the parasite and uncover who is behind this event and why it’s happening. Throughout the journey, the player will meet various characters from different races, with unique abilities and personalities. The player can choose to ally with these characters and build relationships, which may influence the storyline, the characters' lives, and the events that unfold in the game world.
