Festivals: Harvest Contest [Spring]
Doraemon: Story of Seasons
The Harvest Contest occurs once near the end of every season and is a chance to show off your best work. To enter, you must submit a crop grown within the current season.
- Date: 28th of each Season
- Time: 10 AM - 6 PM
- Place: Harappa Square
Doraemon will remind you five days prior of the upcoming Harvest Contest. On the day of the Contest, talk to Mayor Ryam between 10 AM and 6 PM to submit your entry.
For the best chance of winning, you'll need to fertilize a crop every day to raise its star ranking. This means that crops that have a longer growth period or that regrow will be easier to rank up, until you are able to unlock the Seed Maker and make better quality seeds.
Tips to Prepare the Winning Crop
A trick to get the most out of fertilizing your crop for the festival:
- Choose the crop with the longest growth period for the season. More growing days = more days to fertilize
- Water only once every other day, but fertilize every day. Your crop won't wither if you water every other day, but it will take longer to grow since it needs to be watered to grow. This gives you the most time to fertilize. Just keep an eye on how many days you have until festival time.
- If you have the Seed Maker unlocked (by obtaining the Invention Inventor), use your fertilized crop to make higher quality seeds. The seeds you obtain from the Seed Maker will be one rank lower than the crop used to make the seeds. This makes it so that you don't have to start from scratch every time and can obtain even higher quality crops and seeds.
Note that unfortunately, crops that can continually regrow (such as Strawberry) seem to reset their star quality each time you harvest, so they are generally not ideal for the Harvest Contest prior to obtaining the Seed Maker.
