Maker Machines
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town
There are several processing machines you can have built in your barns that will convert normal animal products into upgraded varieties. These maker machines appear for sale at Saibara's Forge after you have commissioned Gotts to upgrade the size of your Barn and your Coop. Saibara will send a letter to your mailbox when the machines have been added to his shop inventory.
There are a total of five makers. Each machines requires you to bring 1 Adamantite and 20,000 G to Saibara. You can find Adamantite in the Spring Mine starting on floor 10. Saibara will spend 1 day constructing each maker machines, and install it in your barn after the machine's construction is complete.
To use a maker machine, simply hold the animal product as the active item and then press the A Button to toss the item into the machine. The maker will gurgle a little bit and return the processed goods into your hands. You can place single items as well as stacks of 9 items into the makers.
Barn Maker Machines
The machines that can appear in the Barn are the Butter Maker (the yellow machine), the Yarn Maker (the brown machine), and the Cheese Maker (the red machine). Only normal cow's milk can be placed into the Butter Maker and Cheese Maker. Butter will be processed into a single serving size, but Cheese will be processed in various sizes depending on the size of the Milk placed in the machine.
Unlike the other two machines, the Yarn Maker will accept all type of animal fur. The size of the returned yarn ball will depend on the size of the sheep wool or alpaca fleece. This maker can also convert angora fur into yarn.
Butter Maker
Name | Criteria | Profit |
---|---|---|
Milk (S) | Cow with 0 to 3 hearts | 100 G |
Milk (M) | Cow with 4 to 7 hearts | 220 G |
Milk (L) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts | 360 G |
Milk (G) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts and won the Moo Moo Festival | 500 G |
Milk (P) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts, won the Moo Moo Festival, and has spent 1000 hours outside | 600 G |
Milk (X) | 1 in 255 chance from a Milk (P) producing Cow | 800 G |
Butter | Any quality of normal Milk into the Butter Maker | 150 G |
As you can see, the Butter Maker is only profitable when placing Milk (S) into the machine to convert into Butter. Any other size of milk will result in a loss. You can also make Butter using your kitchen if you have learned the recipe by cooking a total of 5 recipes that use milk as an ingredient. The Butter cooked up in the kitchen is the same as what is processed through the Butter Maker.
Yarn Maker
Name | Criteria | Profit |
---|---|---|
Wool (S) | Sheep with 0 to 3 hearts | 400 G |
Alpaca Fleece (S) | Alpaca with 0 to 3 hearts | 420 G |

Wool (M) | Sheep with 4 to 7 hearts | 700 G |
Alpaca Fleece (M) | Alpaca with 4 to 7 hearts | 740 G |
Yarn (M) | Wool (M) or Alpaca Fleece (M) into the Yarn Maker | 920 G |
Wool (L) | Sheep with 8 to 10 hearts | 1300 G |
Alpaca Fleece (L) | Alpaca with 8 to 10 hearts | 1360 G |
Yarn (L) | Wool (L) or Alpaca Fleece (L) into the Yarn Maker | 1400 G |
Wool (G) | Sheep with 8 to 10 hearts and won the Fluffy Festival | 2500 G |
Alpaca Fleece (G) | Alpaca with 8 to 10 hearts and won the Fluffy Festival | 2700 G |
Yarn (G) | Wool (G) or Alpaca Fleece (G) into the Yarn Maker | 2000 G |
Wool (P) | Sheep with 8 to 10 hearts, won the Fluffy Festival, and has spent 1000 hours outside | 3200 G |
Alpaca Fleece (P) | Alpaca with 8 to 10 hearts, won the Fluffy Festival, and has spent 1000 hours outside | 3500 G |
Yarn (P) | Wool (P) or Alpaca Fleece (P) into the Yarn Maker | 2800 G |
Wool (X) | 1 in 255 chance from a Wool (P) producing Sheep | 3600 G |
Alpaca Fleece (X) | 1 in 255 chance from a Fleece (P) producing Alpaca | 4000 G |
Yarn (X) | Wool (X) or Alpaca Fleece (X) into the Yarn Maker | 3200 G |
The small, medium, and large-size Yarn will earn more profit than if you had shipped the basic wool or fleece, but gold, platinum, and X Yarn will ship at a loss. Basically, ship one of each of the higher-level yarn balls so they count towards completing the game's shipped items list, then simply ship the raw wool after that.
Cheese Maker
Name | Criteria | Profit |
---|---|---|
Milk (S) | Cow with 0 to 3 hearts | 100 G |
Cheese (S) | Milk (S) into Cheese Maker | 250 G |
Milk (M) | Cow with 4 to 7 hearts | 220 G |
Cheese (M) | Milk (M) into Cheese Maker | 380 G |
Milk (L) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts | 360 G |
Cheese (L) | Milk (L) into Cheese Maker | 540 G |
Milk (G) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts and won the Moo Moo Festival | 500 G |
Cheese (G) | Milk (G) into Cheese Maker | 700 G |
Milk (P) | Cow with 8 to 10 hearts, won the Moo Moo Festival, and has spent 1000 hours outside | 600 G |
Cheese (P) | Milk (P) into Cheese Maker | 820 G |
Milk (X) | 1 in 255 chance from a Milk (P) producing Cow | 800 G |
Cheese (X) | Milk (X) into Cheese Maker | 1500 G |
It is always more profitable to convert normal cow's milk into cheese. Processed cheese is even more profitable than shipping the specialty milks (coffee, fruit, and strawberry), where at most you'll earn 900 G for shipping X-quality specialty milk.
If you don't have a cow that produces Milk (X) to convert into Cheese (X), you can cook it using your kitchen. The recipe for Cheese (X) can be learned after you cook 50 recipes that used Cheese (S) as an ingredient, 25 recipes that used Cheese (M) as an ingredient, and 10 recipes that used Cheese (L) as an ingredient.
Coop Maker Machines
There are two makers in the Coop: a Mayonnaise Maker (the ivory machine) and a Yarn Maker (the brown machine). The mayo machine will convert chicken eggs into mayonnaise, and the yarn machine takes angora fur and converts it into yarn balls. The Yarn Maker can also accept alpaca fleece and sheep wool, so basically it is a duplicate of the Yarn Maker that exists in the animal barn.
Mayonnaise Maker

X Egg | 1 in 255 chance from a Platinum Egg laying chicken | 240 G |
Mayonnaise (X) | X Egg into Mayo Maker | 800 G |
Processed mayonnaise will always sell for more than the raw egg.
Mayonnaise can also be cooked in your kitchen after you own the Whisk and Seasoning Set utensils. The kitchen-crafted mayo also requires Oil (50 G each) from Jeff's General Store; the Mayonnaise Maker can craft mayo without using Oil. The sell-price for cooked mayonnaise is the same as the machine-processed mayo.
Yarn Maker
Name | Criteria | Profit |

Angora Fur (S) | Angora Rabbit with 0 to 3 hearts | 240 G |

Angora Fur (X) | 1 in 255 chance from a Platinum Angora Fur rabbit | 1800 G |
Yarn (X) | Angora Fur (X) into Yarn Maker | 3200 G |
Unlike sheep and alpaca, angora fur that has been processed into yarn will sell for more profit than the raw fur.
